5 STUDENTS SELECTED FROM EACH INSTITUTION
Omega is a ‘strategic partnership’ financed by the European Commission and coordinated by Yaşar University of Izmir. Its subject is the employability of arts graduates.
In the course of the partnership 30 students and 10-15 teachers from the following European institutions will take part in an ‘intensive pilot course’ on Art and Music Students in Business.

The aim of OMEGA is to introduce students of arts institutions to a subject that receives insufficient attention in Higher Education Institutions: that of the future employment.
The Aims
OMEGA aims to help students from different disciplines (performing arts, fine arts, media, technology, social sciences, etc.) to:
(1) create awareness in business sector concerning to this new professional profile
(2) gather students and recent graduates of art and music departments with different business stakeholders by different networking activities.
(3) extend and enrich traditional scope of the art and music programme curricula.
(4) provide well equipped art and music activities/trainings designer profile for the European companies.
(5) develop interaction and networking activities between students and companies to create common social responsibility project as case studies.
(6) introduce and disseminate this new course module through other European higher education
The Teachers
The teachers and experts come from different countries and different subject areas and they represent complementary competences and approaches to the subject. They will be assisted by other experts, guests and speakers.
Activity 1: The Intensive Period (April 2016)
The intensive pilot course (working days: 6-15 April 2014) will take at Yasar University, Izmir. It will include lectures, seminars and individual group work. In this period the students will be divided into five transnational “working groups”, each consisting of students from different disciplinary fields and different countries.
Activity 2: The Field Project (Spring-Summer 2016)
After the intensive course each student will engage in a short project of artistic collaboration with a business in the local region. The subject, timing and place of the project will be decided after the selection process.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- The students will be selected from a wide range of disciplines: musictheatre, dance, fine arts, architecture, design, media, technology, business, communication, social sciences, etc.
- The students must be interested in
- The students must be flexible and willing to work in a collaborative project.
- Their English must be sufficient to follow the work with other students in a European project.
- The students must guarantee their presence for the full period (ten days plus arrival and departure dates): 5-16 April 2016.
